Fund Raisers

 

v      Participated in Downtown Carlisle Farmers’ Market(Spring & Fall)

v      Continued Candle Sale

v      Added Andy’s Hot Sauce Sale

v      Set-up stand at South Middleton Super Saturday Event in July

v      Expanded Kindness Kookie Sales

v      Held another 50/50 St. Patrick’s Day Raffle

v      4th Annual Michael Cup Golf Tournament, Major Benefactor was Stevens Center

v      Held Michael Day Dinner/Silent Auction at Cumberland Crossings Banquet Room, which enabled us to establish the Mikie Endowment Fund.     

 

Charity  

 

v      Contributed $2500.00 to The Stevens Center, which was earmarked for Bipolar Services

v      Contributed $100.00 to Christian Services Counseling Center of Carlisle, PA

v      Donated Food to Needy Families

v      Provided Canned Goods to US Postal Service Food Drive.

v      Compiled Literature, Donated Gold Bows, Kindness Kookies and Floral Arrangements to Bereaved Parents and Individuals in Crises.

v      Donated Kindness Kookies to Carlisle Police Dept., Carlisle Firefighters and Eagles Club.

v      Contributed More Than 30 Meals to Carlisle Firefighters and Bipolar Sufferers.

v      Provided Maintenance Supplies and Personal Care Products to Community Service Organizations to Assist With Their Annual Budget

v      Gave an Assortment of Activity Items For Children to Aid Counselors in the Waiting Rooms and Outpatient Home Services.  Ex: Puzzles, Books, Crayons, Reading Books, “Mike The Monarch” Reading Kits, Toys, Stuffed Animals

 

Projects, Research and Education

 

v      Researched and Investigated the Stigmas of Suicide and Bipolar Disorder.

v      Kicked off 2004 Campaign on Suicide and Bipolar By Distributing 1000’s of Brochures and Literature on the Topics.

v      Created(In House) and Ran Continuing Radio Public Service Series Announcements Throughout the Entire Year in Partnership With WHYL AM 960 Radio.  The Series Was Aimed at the Wide Variety of Brochures and Booklets Available for Distribution to Individuals and Groups on a Wide Range of Mental Health Related Topics.

v      Participated in Public Affairs Radio Program Called “Philadelphia Focus” Broadcast on Three Clear Channel Owned Radio Stations in Philadelphia.  The Program was geared to the over 1,000,000 potential listeners in the Delaware Valley of Pennsylvania regarding The Loss of A Child and The Mission of Our Foundation.  The Show Aired On Mother’s Day.

v      Provided a Representative to Participate in the Bi-Monthly United Way Special Needs Meetings.

v      President of Foundation Serves on Community Advisory Committee to The Stevens Center.

v      Presented the First Annual Michael Day Altruism Awards to Outstanding Volunteers.  This Event Was Held in Conjunction With “Michael Day” (See above).

v      Created and Distributed “Mike The Monarch” Bookmarks aimed at Children to Promote Kindness to Others and Literacy.

v      Provided a Speaker and Mission Brochure Kits which we Named “Harvest of Knowledge” to American Business Women’s Association Fall Meeting. (Feature Material “Women in Depression”).

v      Elevated Our Level of Participation in MLSMF Exclusive “Why The Butterfly” Parental Bereavement Support Group by Sending a Quantity of Encouragement Cards and Flowers to The Bereaved and Ill, as an Act of Kindness.
