ichael Lynn Shatto Memorial Foundation
Incorporated 2000

Michael Day, August 17th.

This day was set aside to commemorate the life of Michael Lynn Shatto and his charitable community work, demonstrate compassion for bereaved parents who have lost a child and help us demonstrate to the world what "Michael Day" is all about, "Kindness to Others"

"Each year on "Michael Day" - August 17th, an annual contribution to the "Mikie Fund" will provide great potential for the endowment to help stop the cycle of child abuse and give tremendous hope to children and grandchildren who are struggling with mental illness and emotional issues.  Please say you will join the "Foundation" in this orchestration of higher harmony to give all children happier and healthier lives.

     Established to:

Commemorate the life of Michael Lynn Shatto and his charitable community work.

Michael was known by business associates, friends and family as a personable, likable guy, whose generosity was a natural trait.  He was always helping those less fortunate and was constantly expressing his empathy and love for others.

Demonstrate compassion for bereaved parents, who have lost a child.

A time to demonstrate empathy and understanding to those who have lost a child by displaying a gold metallic bow and wearing gold metallic lapel ribbons.  These parents experience the ultimate pain and sacrifice.  Therefore, we would request, each year, you follow through with acts of kindness to these grieving parents on this day.

Help the foundation to demonstrate to the world what "Michael Day" is all about Kindness to Others".

A day to assess your generosity and kindness to others, with positive strides to make the world a place for harmony, love, security, and support - a trusting extended universal family.

"I prefer you to make mistakes in kindness than miracles in unkindness".   -Mother Teresa

"Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people.  A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough".     -Franklin D. Roosevelt

"A man's greatness is measured by his kindness; his education and intelligence by is modesty; his ignorance is betrayed by his suspicions and prejudices and his real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance he has of others".    - Author unknown

"All Lights On"

The significance of "ALL LIGHTS ON" at Foundation Headquarters on the 17th.

August 17th, 2000 is the day we lost our only child-Mike.

Therefore, the 17th of every month is designated as a day for the Michael Lynn Shatto Memorial Foundation to show empathy for all bereaved parents.  This compassion is demonstrated by illuminating the outside lights of our Foundation Headquarters as giving personal comfort and part of ourselves to those burdened with this uniquely painful and very complicated loss, plus to ensure the Foundation is there to help grieving parents restore hope in facing a renewed future.
