Our goal is to support one another during this long and difficult journey of grieving, because the ties of love and hope that bind a parent and a child are the most powerful.

Suggestions for showing compassion and understanding
to bereaved parents who have lost a child:

º Send "Thinking of You" or Inspirational Cards during the Holiday season, instead of Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday cards.

º Take them a baked good or casserole.
(May we suggest a quantity of our exclusive Kindness Kookies)

º Offer to help them with an errand.

º Send them a card or flowers.

º Give them a call and let them do the talking. Let them talk about their lost child. Just listen. This is not the time to discuss or praise your children or grandchildren.

º Hug and hold them in your arms.

º Let them cry. (Please do not set time limits on their grieving period).

º Take them out to lunch.

º Buy a gold Foundation bow and display it as a show of compassion, or wear a gold metallic lapel ribbon.

º Help protect grieving parents from individuals who prey upon the suffering and weakness of others. Besides unscrupulous business persons, be wary of opportunistic friends, family and co-workers of the bereaved.
